Airplane

A poem by Marsha Temlock

Hand casting shadow on an airplane seat by a window, with a clear blue sky outside.

we travel solo

I in seat A

you in cloud B

my belt secured

you float on dreams

and feint the stars

with your wings

gravity my anchor

heaven your trapeze

to soar

to heaven

to close the space

while swallows peck my eyes.
